The Foundation Certificate is a prerequisite for the MSP® Practitioner Certificate, and is therefore an ideal starting point for delegates who wish to take the MSP® Practitioner exam (Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) - Practitioner Workshop) at a later date.
For those who would like training for both the Foundation and Practitioner exams in a single package we also offer a Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) - Foundation and Practitioner course.
Prerequisites
Delegates should have a good appreciation of the principles and sound practical experience of Project Management, ideally utilising a recognised structured methodology. It would be helpful if they have some knowledge and/or experience of strategic or business planning.
Duration
3 days. Workshops included.
Course Objectives
MSP® (Managing Successful Programmes) is a framework for managing change and delivering business benefits from a set of related projects. It is regarded as best practice in the UK and is used by government departments, local authorities, charities and commercial organizations to coordinate and direct programmes of all kinds, regardless of scope, timescale or budget. Like PRINCE2®, Managing Successful Programmes is an integral part of the Office of Government Commerce’s (OGC) Best Practice portfolio.
Our MSP® courses are far more than just exam crammers and our trainers go out of their way to make sure that delegates are able to use MSP® in the real world. At the same time, we offer an exam promise for both the Foundation and Practitioner. Should you fail to pass then you can resit the course once again for free, paying only your exam costs and a £10 per day contribution to your lunches and refreshments.
This course will enable delegates to:
- Understand the benefits and principles underlying a structured approach to programme management.
- Recognise the processes required during change programmes which enable organisations to realise business benefits.
- Prepare for and take the MSP® Foundation examination.
Course Content
A realistic case study scenario is used extensively throughout the course to allow delegates to consolidate their knowledge of MSP® through hands on, syndicate work. Extensive use is also made of past papers to prepare delegates for the exam.
