Audience
This course is for technical support staff who will be involved in implementing, supporting and managing VME-based networks.
Prerequisites
This course is not suitable for anyone without VME system management experience. Such people should first attend the VME SCL Programming and VME System Management & Tech. Support courses or have equivalent knowledge.

Course Objectives
The main topics covered on this course are:
- Network Architecture.
- VME communications cataloguing for the Ethernet and Full XBM protocols.
- Service and SAP structures for each of RSA, FTF, FTAM, DTS and ADI including the user Interface, Implementation on VME, Operational aspects and diagnostic Aids.
- TCP/IP Cataloguing.
On successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:
- Understand how VME-based networks are implemented.
- Implement and support the VME catalogued hierarchies which enable communications connections to be made.
- Implement, support and use on VME:
- Remote Session Access (RSA).
- File Transfer (FTF and FTAM).
- Distributed Transaction Systems (DTS).
- Application Data Interchange (ADI).
- Provide Fujitsu support staff with relevant diagnostic and trace information produced by VME.
- Know how to catalogue a TCP/IP communications link.
- Gain an overall knowledge of networking systems.
