Technical staff requiring an understanding of the installation (day 1) and functionality (days 2-3) of IBM Dataset Commander.
Prerequisites
Delegates should have some previous experience with z/OS - for example, having attended the z/OS Foundation Fast Track (ZOS, TSO, JCL) course, or equivalent experience.

Course Objectives
This 3 day course will form a comprehensive introduction to the IBM Dataset Commander tool.
Course Content
The first day will look at the installation options for IBM Dataset Commander, including: command aliases, SMF exit options and the activation and control of command shortcuts.
Days 2 and 3 will cover:
• Starting and stopping dataset commander for your TSO session, and navigation around the extensions to ISPF and TSO.
• This will include the management and creation of datasets using both the ISPF interface, as well as using Batch tasks running under z/OS.
• We will also cover in detail some of the command extensions added by the product to standard browse and edit sessions, as well as the additional functionality brought to the TSO shell.
• Some of the more advanced options covered include the setting of DSC options for your user session, and the interaction with System Managed Storage options and their connection with datasets.
