AIX Operations

Audience

This course is for experienced operators who are used to larger enterprise systems. This course would be especially suitable for experienced  z/OS operators who now also have to provide operations cover and support assistance for AIX based Systems.

Prerequisites

Attendees should have a good basic understanding of operations for another major operating system in an enterprise environment.

No prior knowledge of UNIX is required.

Course Objectives

This course will provide attendees with the self sufficiency and confidence to operate and help support an AIX based system, typically based on IBM pSeries or RS/6000 Servers.

This course will also provide a firm base on which more advanced system administration training can be based.

On completion of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Cope with the daily operations of a multi-user AIX site
  • Interface with other support functions, such as system administrators, server support or help desks
