Course Objectives
With an expanding number of organisations adopting agile development practices, test automation has become a necessary part of software development. Additionally, as the use of Web technology for business systems increases, a tool which testers can use to automate user interaction through browsers is highly attractive.
This course introduces one of the most popular open source testing tools currently available. Selenium exists in a number of forms and the course scope introduces attendees to the way in which Selenium is used to create and execute scripts.
At the end of the course attendees will:
- Be aware of the different components of Selenium
- Be able to install Selenium IDE
- Be able to produce test scripts by recording or manual creation and edit those scripts
- Be able to execute and debug scripts
- Be able to use Firebug to create scripts
