CSMA: CICSPlex System Manager Administration

Audience

This class is a, newly developed, replacement for the retired IBM WM856g CICSPLEX Administration course suitable for -

  • CICS System Programmers
  • Anyone wanting an in depth understanding of CPSM

Prerequisites

You should:

  • Be familiar with CICS architecture and facilities, either through experience or by successfully completing CICS 6.x Administration or by having an equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Have a working knowledge of CICS TS Intercommunication facilities

Duration

5 Days.

Course Objectives

This course provides both an introduction to CICSPlex SM and a detailed description of the various components that comprise a CICSPlex SM architecture. The CMAS, LMAS and Web User Interface are covered in depth as is their relationship to each other. Upon completion the attendee will have installed a CICSPlex SM environment and connected the CMAS, LMAS and WUI together.  Workload Manager integration is covered as is Business Application Services. Startup and Shutdown of the CICSPlex is covered as is the role of Security.  A brief introduction to the CPSM API is also covered. A CICS/TS system will be available for Workshops to install the CICSPlex environment.
