This course is intended for:
- CICS COBOL Programmers.
- Batch COBOL Programmers moving into an CICS environment.
Prerequisites
Attendees should have 2 years experience of COBOL programming in a Batch environment.

Course Objectives
Upon completion, attendees will be able to confidently code Command Level CICS Programs. They will understand how to use File Control, Temporary Storage and Transient Data. Basic Mapping Support is included for 3270 screen design. The attendee will be able to describe how to use time dependent commands, and how to link between programs. The attendee will be able to understand how to deal with error conditions. The attendee will also be able to use CEDA to define their program to CICS and to use CEDF to test and debug their programs. The CICS/DB2 and CICS/MQ communication interfaces are covered. As well an Introduction to CICS Web Services. The attendee will have access to the latest CICS/TS System of 6.1 and written a Command Level program, updated it to handle recovery and coded a BMS map.
