Audience
This course is for anyone new to the Fujitsu VME system. This can include new starters, application programmers, operation analysts and future technical support staff.
Prerequisites
A basic understanding of computer programming essentials is recommended but not mandatory.
You should first attend GW1: VME Groundworks Part 1, or have equivalent knowledge, before attending this course.

Course Objectives
For those who will be working in applications development and technical support on the VME System, this course covers the basic concepts of the SCL language and statements, and enables you to use SCL variables in simple Job Control Programs. It forms an important foundation that will be built upon as your VME training progresses.
You will acquire the knowledge and skills to:
- Define and use SCL variables.
- Use simple conditional SCL statements.
- Use simple loops.
