z/OS Implementation Using ServerPac

AUDIENCE:   This course is designed for systems programmers responsible for installing the z/OS operating system using the ServerPac facility.

PREREQUISITES:   Attendance at our z/OS for Beginners, TSO/ISPF Workshop and z/OS JCL classes or an equivalent level of knowledge is a prerequisite.

DURATION:   3 days. Hands-on.

OBJECTIVES:   The class will take delegates through the steps involved with installing z/OS from distribution tapes using the ServerPac facility. It will also deal with customisation tasks and implementation issues required before the system can be fully introduced into a production environment.
When run as a one company course, the hands on components of the workshops will be to plan and implement the z/OS system using the customers own ServerPac installation package. The aim will be to produce a basic IPLable z/OS system. These workshops may then be kept as “real work” and augmented to include ongoing advice and guidance for the installation of other components and system customisation through to system implementation in full production mode. Each on-site workshop would be individually planned, however, the basic workshop would typically last 5 days.
This service would benefit customers whose systems are back level or where skills are out of date.
