VME Audit and Security




AUDIENCE:   Anyone who wishes to audit a Fujitsu VME System.
This can include new starters, application programmers, operation analysts and auditors.

PREREQUISITES:   Delegates should have a basic understanding of computer systems but this is not mandatory.

DURATION:   2 days. Hands on.

OBJECTIVES:   To enable auditors to access the VME systemin order to investigate the software application programs with reference to their:-
1 Privacy levels
2 Functions
3 Related running environment
This course provides the participants with the basic concepts of VME and System Control Language (SCL), and enables them to use simple file handling facilities.
Participants will acquire the knowledge and skills to:
- Run an interactive MAC session making effective using block structuring to control system resources
- Understand and negotiate the file structure
- Know the theory and structure of a job control program
- Negotiate the privacy system
- Read and understand the layout of a SCL procedure
- Know the principal of the loading environment.

COURSE CONTENT:  

The VME running environment
Be able to use the VME commands.
Know how to run an interactive MAC session using all the HELP facilities in VME.
The ability to negotiate through the file structure including the use libraries and file groups.
The theory of Job Control Programs.
Understand the first principles of the procedure writing
Compilation of procedures and application programs with reference to the loading environment
The use of Collector
The privacy system in the VME system between users.
