It is a prerequisite that delegates have at least a years experience of administering a Unix system. The course starts at a very high level and concentrates on the differences between Unix and Linux Enterprise Server administration. |

The Linux Enterprise Server for Experienced UNIX Administrators course is for current administrators with at least one years experience with an UNIX operating system. The course concentrates on the differences between Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server systems and other UNIX based operating systems. On top of their current Unix experience, delegates will gain a thorough understanding of Linux Enterprise Server environment. |

Introduction to RHEL Planning the Installation Installing RHEL Basic configuration and administration Advanced installation Package administration Boot, init, and shut down procedures Configuring software RAID devices Setting up and using automated installation methods Kernel source and recompilation. Sharing files with NFS Sharing Windows and Linux resources with Samba Setting up a proxy server with Squid Setting up Network Information Services (NIS) Configuring DHCP servers & clients Setting up Domain Name Service (DNS) & BIND Using Apache to provide web services. Setting up E-Mail services Setting up telnet and FTP Services Operational recovery & security
