| AUDIENCE: |
This course is for Storage administrators, systems programmers, operations analysts or anyone responsible for building, managing and maintaining ICF catalogs. |
| PREREQUISITES: |
The participant should have knowledge of the z/OS environment, along with experience with JCL and VSAM datasets. |
| DURATION: |
3 days. Hands on. |
| OBJECTIVES: |
After taking this course the student should be able to:
- Define the structure and function of an ICF catalog
- Create and maintain ICF catalogs
- Understand the associations between the differing VVDS and BCS records
- Identify and determine an error in a catalog structure
- Define procedures to diagnose, backup and recover catalog, whilst ensuring a high level of system availability. |
